About the Teacher:
I graduated from Altoona Area High School in 2002, graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in May 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology Education, and I am currently working on my Masters of Education with a focus on Middle-Level Instruction from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. I live in Altoona with my husband, Ryan, our puppies (Zoey and Gator), and our newest addition, our son Cameron.

Teacher Expectations for Students:
I expect all students to come to class prepared for learning with textbook, notebook, writing utensil, and with completed assignments. Students should also be in their seat when the bell rings as class will begin promptly following the bell. As students come into class they should expect to complete a Bellringer activity every day.

Courses Taught:
  • Physical Science 8A - course focuses on practical application of physical science concepts such as force, motion, energy, and electricity.
  • Biology II/Anatomy and Physiology - course focuses in depth analysis of how the body functions. This course will require students to complete homework assignments nightly and dedication to studying in order to succeed in this class.
  • Life Science 7A, 7B, and 7C - course focuses on exploring the living things around us as well as our own bodies.
  • Earth Science 9A - course focuses on Earth processes, weather, erosion, space, and water.
  • Applied Biology - addresses the topics of the cell, cell processes, systems of the body, and fundamental concepts of genetics.
