DRILL DEFINITIONS:

Lock-Out : No one is permitted to enter or exit the building. Normal operation will continue within the building; i.e. changing of classes, lunches, facility usage, etc. (Lock-out is sometimes referred to as “shelter-in-place” or a “soft lockdown”).

Lock-Down : No one is permitted to enter or exit the building. All students are to report to the nearest classroom. The teacher will lock the door and take attendance. Students should sit quietly away from all windows and doors. Teachers will email missing or extra students to the secretaries, principal, network administrator, and superintendent.
Evacuation : In the event that an emergency building evacuation is required, students and staff will be moved to a staging area within the school or to a secondary location. Secondary locations will vary depending upon the situation.

Reminder: During emergency drills or real emergency situations, parents should not report to the school until notified that it is appropriate to do so. Parents will be given details regarding time and location(s) at the appropriate time.
